French pinoleum blinds in tanglewood conservatory
Grants worked closely with Tanglewood to incorporate concealed blinds in this beautiful garden room fronting onto Lake Erie, Ohio. The Tanglewood design included regular shallow-depth pilasters. To complement these, Grants designed and manufactured a concealed roller style French Pinoleum blind, operating close to the window frame between the pilaster detailing.
The design included the concealment being part of the painted wooden cornice detail. This was used on all four sides of the room and included Blindspace covers, painted to match the woodwork, enabling the blinds to be easily accessed if needed.
Roman style roof blinds were fitted between the roof glazing bars and stack out of sight above the cornice when not required. All blinds were made in the UK using Grants flatweave material painted Chatsworth colour.
The inclusion of blinds means the room can be used all year round providing insulation, solar heat gain reduction and cosiness at nighttime.
