Grants Blinds Wiring Diagrams

Luxury Light Control

Today’s lifestyle requires automated blinds and with that comes the need for wiring. For wiring to be concealed, it needs to be included in the first fix stages of the build project. Grants experience with automated blinds will ensure that the right provisions are made.

Wiring Requirements

Every blind has specific wiring requirements and so does every control system. Some blinds use mains and others low voltage motors requiring transformers. Blinds may need individual wiring to each blind or some systems allow many blinds on the same circuit. These circuits can then be grouped together to work on one control – that can be hard-wired or with radio receivers (RTS).

Concealed wiring

Concealed wiring needs to be sorted early in the project. Concealment boxes enable all wiring to be brought to the required position with the benefit of not being visible yet accessible later. When future-proofing windows for concealed blinds, boxes are prepared with wires even if blinds are not specified.

Battery operated blinds

Battery operated blinds are becoming increasingly popular in retro-fit situations not requiring wiring and can still be controlled with radio receivers (RTS). These blinds need to be recharged and are limited in the sizes they can manage due to low torque. Battery blinds are mostly only available for window blinds. You would not plan to have battery-operated blinds in a new build project or extension.

Grants’ expertise

To ensure smooth project running, once engaged Grants will provide the electrical team with detailed information and wiring diagrams for complex and whole-house situations. This information enables the contractor to plan and provide what is needed.
