Bottom-Up Blinds

Traditionally, blinds work top-down, free-hanging, with no wires. However, in some situations, blinds are needed to work from the bottom up. This may be due to the shape of the window being larger at the base or in cases where shading or privacy is required on the lower part of the window. These blinds will require either side channels or guide wires to be able to operate.

Concealment for Bottom-Up Blinds

When planned for early in the construction process, bottom-up blinds can be concealed within the floor, window sill or transom. These bottom-up blinds will then appear when required and be completely out of sight when not needed, providing a neat solution. Where this is not possible, blinds would need to sit on the floor or on the window sill, within a cassette. This can be powder coated to match the glazing structure using the nearest RAL colour.

Bottom-Up Roller Blinds

Roller blinds are recommended for a contemporary style solution, good for sun protection and privacy with guide wires and full blackout with zipped side channels. Roller blinds are limited to rectangular and triangular shapes for best results and can be easily hidden when planned for early. Bottom-up zipped roller blinds with side channels, work very well where window glazing meets roof glazing, with no obstruction at the corner.

Bottom-Up Duette® Blinds

Bottom-up Duette® blinds are excellent for large triangular windows where blackout is required. Popular in master bedrooms, these solutions need to be combined with Blindspace® concealment frames/pelmets for best blackout results. This is the smallest blind solution if concealment is required.

Bottom-Up Fabric Roman Blinds

Quite rare, bottom-up roman blinds only really work well where floor-boxes are provided. This solution can be made using soft furnishing material which is more decorative and provides extra comfort when required.
