Blinds for Orangeries
These garden rooms have more glass generally than any other room in the home. As a result, these rooms tend to extremes of light and heat, changing with the seasons throughout the year. The right choice of shading will ensure that your orangery can be enjoyed all year round.
We have gained considerable experience over 40 years with wooden orangeries from companies such as Hamptons, Maston & Langinger, Vale Garden Houses and David Salisbury, both for new builds and existing buildings.
Orangery Roof Blinds - Horizontal ZIP Roller Blinds
More popular in recent times have been with new build projects to include a horizontal concealed blind that pulls across when required with no visible guide wires. This concealed solution will need to be planned prior to construction for best results.
Orangery Roof Blinds – Following the roofline
Traditionally, orangery blinds follow the roofline with regular guide wires, leaving the full height available space to be enjoyed. When fitted between bars individually, the building structure is enhanced further. French Pinoleum Blinds are especially suitable in this situation where irregular shapes are found. They further provide very good shade as well as insulation and resistance to insect marking.
Blinds for Orangery Windows and Doors
Window blinds usually match the roof blind solution and provide extra protection from heat and glare as well as providing privacy and comfort at night time. Pelmets and concealment boxes are often used to hide the blinds when not in use. Blinds can be lined for additional privacy and/or custom painted to client-specific colour if required.

Motorisation of Orangery Blinds
Due to the often large number of blinds in an orangery, motorised solutions are recommended if the blinds are to be used regularly. Manual roof blinds in particular are awkward to operate. Blinds can work both individually or in groups controlled from handset or integrated to home management systems.
